Handstands and other random stuff

It's likely that many of you have wondered what goes on in my home on a Friday night. I find it kinda creepy that you have wondered that, but regardless I figured I would enlighten you as to what kind of madness ensues in my home on any given Friday night. Handstands! I don't know what it is about handstands that make small people so happy, but they do.

It starts with Issac...

Then Courtney gets in on the action...

Savannah's not a big fan of standing on her hands but she likes kicking higher than her head...

Caleb is an interesting one to watch...

This one is Particularly talented. He's on his hands, his body is twisted and he's looking at the camera. That is something to write mom about.

Dear Mom,
check out what Caleb did.
Love, Issac

Eventually he gets it. Anyway, it's pretty much handstands, Nintendo wii, movies, junk food, and stuff like that. So I hope some of the questions you've always had about the kind of stuff that happens within the four walls of our home on a Friday night have been answered. Now run along and find another family to have wierd curiosities about.

Disneyland Part 2

I can't seem to get Disneyland off my mind! Our next trip is in 72 more days and I can hardly stand it! It's sad that the kids won't be going this time, but at the same time exciting that it will be just the adults. We will actually be able to "be kids" at Disneyland instead of "being parents." To spark more excitement and to make the memories last, I decided to post just a few pictures from our May trip. Hope you like!

Woody (Issac) & Buzz (Sebby)

Issac recently spent the night at his good friend Sebastian's (Sebby) house and had a blast. They played dress up (Toy Story heros pictured above), and pretty much did everything 3 and 4 year old boys can do. Issac really loves Sebby and I'm very glad he has a friend his age.

Back to school and other news

Well, after a year of trying to homeschool 3 kids while holding down full time jobs we've decided that the best thing for our kids and family this year would be to send Courtney and Caleb back to school! Yesterday was their first day back to school at Pinon Elementary School here in Santa Fe! They were really excited to go back. I've heard good things about this school and their teachers seem nice so we feel good about it. They are already making friends! That's pretty awesome. So join us in praying for them as they attend school this year. Our prayer would be that they would get a good education without being negetively influenced by the world. I pray that they would make good choices with the friends they make and be salt and light in that school! I have faith that God will keep them. He's awesome!

As for this guy...well, he just missed the birthday deadline to go to school this year. He will turn five like 2 days after the deadline for him to get into kindergarden this year. Oh well...he's probably a little too crazy for school this year anyway. I mean, look at him. If any of you knew me when I was little, he acts just like I did (but WORSE). Anyway it makes for an entertaining home life. Anyway, we're having a small family party (with the exception of his best friend Sebby) at It'z in Albuquerque. We look forward to seeing Nana Sue, Papa Gus, Auntie Felicia, Uncle Andy and his family, Papa Ed and Grammy, as well as Uncle Mike, and Auntie Laren there! It will be a blast!

We're gonna try to homeschool Savannah again this year as we're VERY hesitant to send her off to a public High School; Especially in Santa Fe. The schools here aren't that great. There is a lot of drug and gang activity in the schools out here and we would love to protect her from all of that if at all possible. We'll give it one more go this year and if we fail then we better just put her in school next year! Pray for all of us that we wouldn't have to do that. We love her very much and do not want to lose her to this world. Savannah is doing well though! She went to summer camp with us, did The Weekend, and has really been a help and a blessing around the house. She'll be going with the youth group to Freedom Fest this weekend! For those who don't know that's a Christian concert at Cliff's Amusement Park. That should be fun. I think we'll go get some Starbucks together on Thursday night and have a little father/daughter time! She's growing up so fast. Before I know it she'll be up and out of the house. I've gotta cherish the time I have with her now!
So there's a little update on the kids! Hope you are blessed! Take care...

I guess I'll blog

I thought this blog should be preceeded by a picture of the family by which God has so richly blessed me. His grace towards me has been so evident and so meaningful through each and every one of them and for them I thank God daily!
I'm not really a blog kinda guy, but I really want this to be a means by which I can keep in touch with some of the people I love whom I don't get to see often and so I think I will make an effort at this.
I love life in the ministry, but I don't feel as though I often do a good job with balancing life and ministry. I value and cherish the relationships that I have with both family and friends, yet I rarely make the time for them because I feel like I don't have the time. I know that the God that I serve would not have me to sacrifice the meaningful relationships in my life as a result of being too "busy in the ministry". Ministry IS relationships. It's about people. It's about people who have experienced God's grace in salvation being used by God to minister and encourage others to experience and walk in the grace of God. I have friends and family members that could benefit from my being there to bless and encourage them. I could benefit from being blessed and encouraged by them as well. In short, I feel like I have robbed many of us of the blessing that God has given us in time spent together. I have suffered as a result of my error in this area and by God's graceI desire to change. Please hold me accountable to call, email, and (if possible) get together with you all. It is to my benefit that I have closer contact with you all, and I pray that God would allow me the grace to make that happen. I love you guys!
Hopefully all of my blogs won't be of such an apologetic and repentant nature. I hope to be more light hearted in the future. Grace and peace...

Friends...

Tomorrow we'll be hanging out with some of our good friends, the Millers (a.k.a Kevin and Jenn, Millertimes, giraffes, etc.) I'm pretty stoked since we haven't hung out since the end of June... bummer... but it's always fun to get together with them. I would consider them pretty much my best friends, even though we live in different cities. It's awesome how God puts people in our lives. Sometimes it feels like we're related... and we are, in Christ!

This is so awesome!

I was telling Issac just recently how I thought having a website to post pictures and whatever else would be cool.... and I stumbled upon this little miracle and I'm pretty stoked! Anyway, hope everyone enjoys the pics and other info you find here! TTFN (ta ta for now, for those of you that aren't familiar with Tigger).
